Humble Weekly Sale: Jim Guthrie and Friends

With the summer heat finally hitting Europe, sitting in front of the PC or console and playing games might not be the best thing for both body and hardware (except for a very good climatisation system and a darkened room for those gamers who come prepared). So Humble Weekly Sale’s new offering Jim Guthrie and Friends might just be the answer for some chill-out moments outside the sun.

Lots of music for a cheap price
Jim Guthrie is well-known for his Indie Game: The Movie score, but he’s done some more music as well. Not only synthesizer sounds, but acoustic guitar pieces with female and male vocals bring together various musical tunes and create the perfect antithesis to summer radio pop songs.

Among these are soundtracks of the aforementioned Indie Game: The Movie, game-related Sword & Sworcery LP: The Ballad of the Space Babies, The Scythian Steppes: Seven#Sworcery Songs Localized for Japan, Corporeal – Music from Soundshapes and pop-folk albums Now, More Than Ever and Takes Time, not to forget more experimental variations like A Thousand Songs, Children of the Clone and Morning Noon Night. Last but not least are demo compilations Takes Time: Instrumentals & Demos and FREE-P.

A little bit more of gaming and movie goodness
By paying more than the average (at the time of writing around 4 dollars), the informative Indie Game: The Movie as well as the fun RPG mock-adventure game Sword & Sworcery EP will be unlocked as well. The former has already been featured in the Humble Bundle 7, while the latter already received some coverage in the 5 years of Apple Store free games celebration article.

It’s certainly a nice way of introducing both gamers and non-gamers into the world of soothing electro sounds and beautiful pop and acoustic guitar music, so do yourself a favor and get the bundle before it expires in three days.

Check out this fun promo trailer of this awesome package by Jim Guthrie himself who might explain what to expect much better while giving the individual albums a listening try with their respective links on the Humble Weekly Sale:
