Gamescom 2013: The public areas (Part 3)

With too many merch pics already in the last part of the feature, why not have some more, this time all about comics, animes, and Final Fantasy? And if buying is a no go due to an empty pocket, then having a go at Final Fantasy X/X2 and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMIX HD was another possibility to spend time with the Square Enix universe.

Comics and animes kept alive by buying merchandise
It was quite obvious that the target audience wasn’t only gamers, but also comic book and especially anime fans, highlighted by merchandise which made more or less sense, in addition to some other off-the-wall memorabilia:

Don’t be Square, buy into Enix
Of course, with anime, Final Fantasy is not far away, and so it was with the Square Enix merch which ranged from the obvious, like toys, figurines, soundtracks to the more obscure, like jewellery.

There were also some expected things to buy and surprisingly non-gaming-related stuff on display at the Square Enix booth.

Still, Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts were the highlights of the show, with Final Fantasy X+X/2 HD and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMIX HD for PS3 in a playable demo which both looked pretty good with crisp visuals and a cool soundtrack, while the gameplay was just as fun as ever.

A Chocobo wasn’t far away, either, and it got some company as well, promoting Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
