A long time ago, CBE Software released their indie sci-fi adventure J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars… with problematic publisher’s input, and now the newly released (even if it’s been a while), remade and now self-published title is on sale with 50% off, featuring a special Valentine’s Day video.
I still remember talking to developer Jan Kavan about his numerous struggles to finance the title, and with the great puzzler Vampires! (given a score of 8/10 in this review), it’s great to see the sci-fi adventure/exploration game brought to a whole new audience, also via Steam. Telling the story of an astrobiologist, her artificial intelligence J.U.L.I.A. and reconnaissance robot Mobot discover the far reaches of the galaxy is a compelling experience and recommendable for all point-and-click fans. It’s now available for 9,99 EUR until February 25th, 2015.
If you’re not sure what to expect from this game, you can check out the special new gameplay trailer. Otherwise, let’s just say that it’s a very lovingly crafted adventure that was already fun in its original release form, and after so much time of tweaking, the art design looks especially appealing to classic sci-fi fans, while it has a creepy but also wondrous atmosphere to it. So don’t wait and get the game on Steam before the offer expires.
