Even with the weekend soon over, there’s still time to grab some bargains from GOG‘s Weekend Promo: Atari & Rebellion plus some more sales with the Mountain Blade series and The Witcher Adventure Game.
Atari is a household name with the company being right there at the start of the videogame industry, and even if it’s now only a publisher compared to its heyday’s original output, there’s a lot to like in the following titles which are all 70% off until Tuesday, February 24 at 4:59 AM GMT, in addition to UK-based Rebellion which also has an impressive back-catalogue of titles on offer:
Alone in the Dark 1+2+3
Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare
Blood: One Unit Whole Blood
Blood 2: The Blood Group
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Empire Earth Gold Edition
Empire Earth 2 Gold Edition
Empire Earth 3
Evil Genius
Ground Control Anthology
Ground Control 2: Operation Exodus Special Edition
Independence War Deluxe
Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos
Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death
Krush Kill ‘n Destroy Xtreme
Krush Kill ‘n Destroy 2: Krossfire
Chris Sawyer’s Locomotion
Lords of Magic: Special Edition
Lords of the Realm: Royal Edition
Lords of the Realm 3
Master of Magic
Moonbase Commander
Pinball Gold Pack
Pinball World
Powerslide
Rogue Trooper
Rollercoaster Tycoon: Deluxe
Rollercoaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum!
Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945
It’s difficult to pick favorites and not having played most of these, I can’t make perfect recommendations, but the classic Alone in the Dark series is definitely a must-play-buy example, having been already reviewed here. The Blood games are also tremendously gory fun I remember playing back in the days, even with the Index censorship/youth protection restrictions in Germany. Riddick is also an amazing piece of software, even bettering the movie it’s based on, at least with the remastered Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (included as well) I played on the Xbox 360.
If these titles weren’t enough, there’s also a sale going on with the Mount & Blade series, a medieval sandbox action-strategy war experience:
Mount & Blade
Mount & Blade: Warband
Mount & Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars
Mount & Blade: Warband – Viking Conquest
Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword
Unfortunately, I haven’t played any of these, so I can’t say much about them. Still, if you’re curious, they can be bought until Monday, February 23 at 10:59 AM GMT. That’s tomorrow, so hurry!
If fantasy is more to your liking and you can’t wait for the release of The Witcher 3, then maybe The Witcher Adventure Game is up your alley, a board game based on CD Project Red’s popular RPG series.
It’s only 40% off until Monday, February 23 at 10:59 AM GMT (so again tomorrow!), but with the recent GOG Galaxy multiplayer stress test, there should be enough dice rolling and levelling up to pass the time before the much anticipated big game arrives.
