The recent feature about episodic gaming couldn’t be more on time, as Telltale Games releases yet another Game of Thrones episode this week on various platforms.
I have to be honest that I can’t say anything about the quality of the season so far, as I haven’t played it yet, nor have I read the books by fantasy author George R. R. Martin or watched the HBO TV-series. These are probably the first things I’ll do before delving into this high fantasy setting.
The trailer of The Sword in the Darkness more than piques my interest and even without knowing all the connections, it’s clear to see that Telltale Games again does a tremendous job with voice acting, music and action sequences. The engine might still look a bit outdated (last Telltale game I played was The Walking Dead – Season 1), but hopefully the decision-making process is still as great as the dialogue to listen to and characters to meet.
The game is out now on PC/Mac, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and should soon (today) be available on iOS and Android as well.
