GOG releases: More Telltale Games adventures

The partnership with Telltale Games and GOG was a big step, but some older games were missing. Some return to the DRM-free platform now.

Puzzle Agent, Puzzle Agent 2, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People, and Hector: Badge of Carnage are the titles which have been added to the roster of classic point-and-click adventure games.

They’re all quite excellent and also very different in tone and game design. The Puzzle Agent games are a Professor Layton-like collection of logic puzzles with a twisted story and a surprisingly tense Twin Peaks-like atmosphere with agent Tethers investigating a series of strange gnomes appear in a small town. Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People goes in a completely different direction with the titular anti-hero poking fun at 8bit games and stranger things. Think South Park with anarchy humor and obscure puzzles. Hector: Badge of Carnage is even more extreme with a detective who’s not the ideal type of helping police hand due to his alcohol problems and other questionable investigation methods.

As diverse as the games are, so is the puzzle design. Except for the Puzzle Agent series, it’s classic point-and-click adventure fare with mind-bending solutions but also lots of crazy ideas and characters. Highly recommended, and with a 75% discount of all games together lasting until Friday, October 2, 12:59 PM GMT, there’s no reason to miss out on these awesomely deranged titles.
