Team17‘s long-running strategy series Worms just got another DRM-free treatment with Worms Armageddon.
After reminiscing about the good old times in the news about Worms W.M.D., I didn’t even know that the third title wasn’t already available on GOG, with so many others in the library. Not even taking into account that I didn’t put as much playtime into any other installments as in the original, it’s still great to learn about the series’ progress.
I always thought that the later games (already starting with the sequel) offered too many overpowered weapons, but I couldn’t deny that they always brought a smile to my face, as the originality in their use and names is unparalleled. This one is no different, with 55 weird weapons and tools that include something like the French Sheep Strike. As it’s often the case, local hotseat multiplayer is the real way to experience the game, with people taking turns in annihilating the enemy’s team. Especially fun are the many variations of the core gameplay, e.g. Handicapping, Worms Disease, or Home Runs.
The classic comic game is now available DRM-free with a 50% discount that will last until October 13, 12:59 PM UTC.
