Gaming bundles sometimes suffer from too many retro pixel art titles, but the Humble Unreal Engine Bundle delivers something more graphically impressive.
The Unreal Engine has been around for ages, actually since the first Unreal that was mind-blowing when it was released (and it still looks rather nice). Over the years, many improvements have been made, with even more developers using it for their games (just like Clive Barker’s Undying back in the days). Looking at recent titles that are included in this bundle, the engine provides some very unique experiences in visuals and gameplay.
Starting off with just 1 Dollar or more, co-op survival FPS horror Killing Floor (including Community Weapon Pack 1-3 and Chickenator DLC), destructive golf arcade/simulation Dangerous Golf, and immersive metroidvania action-adventure Shadow Complex Remastered are already part of the deal. Although the first title will be censored if you live in Germany, the others are worth the small price to pay.
Paying more than the average price of currently around 4 Dollars additionally unlocks exploration adventures The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, ADR1FT, and third-person shooter The Mean Greens – Plastic Warfare. While the adventure games are more serious affairs with some amazing-looking visuals, the arcade action game looks like lots of fun, as it’s set in the battleground of home furniture, being very reminiscent to the Army Men series, even if gameplay should be rather different.
Finally with 10 Dollars or more, one gets to play survival FPS The Culling in its Early Access form, which hasn’t surprisingly been put on the German Index yet, considering that it’s about people killing each other on an island with all sorts of devious weapons and contraptions. Maybe it’s the tongue-in-cheek trailer, but then again German authorities rarely have a sense of humor for these kinds of things…
All in all, this is a great compilation of old and new games alike, so make sure you’ll get it before the offer expires in less than two weeks. But make sure your gaming rig is up for some of the more demanding titles.
