It took a rather long time for Playdead‘s dystopian platformer INSIDE to arrive on digital platforms, but not so long for the DRM-free version being added to the GOG library.
Looking at INSIDE, one would immediately think of LIMBO, as it’s again about a boy who finds himself in all sorts of dangerous situations he has to survive. But with a more realistic urban environment and real people, it feels rather different to be hunted down by people and animals. Fast reflexes and quick puzzle solving abilities are required to pull through it all. The game is enigmatic and scary, especially with scenes in which the boy has to get in line of zombie-like people, making it more like social commentary than the afterlife theme of its predecessor. It’s difficult to say what it’s all about and if the gameplay again relies on pixel perfect jumps, but it looks immersive and unique all the same.
The game is now available DRM-free with a 25% launch discount that will last until November 27, 10:59 PM UTC.
