It seems that it’s a recurring theme each year that at some point I can’t find the time to update the blog due to some personal and job reasons, i.e. time constraints. So after having to break up the traditional Christmas movie special in December 2016, January 2017 was completely articles-free with only February offering some blog news.
GOG received quite a bit of coverage, starting with the GOG free game “Constructor”.
The digital service is always good for providing some insights into gaming’s history while at the same time filling the gaps of indie games published on other platforms:
GOG release: “Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist”
GOG release: “Lost Eden”
GOG release: “Virginia”
Speaking of indie games, there were some interesting new releases that were visually appealing, even if their gameplay was only partially inventive:
CAYNE – A STASIS Story
Hearthlands
Memoranda
Phoning Home
Being the first of May, it’s finally time to get the blogging train going again, and for those of you wondering what happened in March and April, rest assured (really this time) that I’ll try to get back on track with more updates, as I have a few writing surprises up my sleeve. So here’s to a (hopefully) more productive month!
