If you couldn’t find the force in you to play with LEGO on Star Wars Day or you’re tired of watching the movies again, then GOG’s special promo: Star Wars sale offers enough gaming blasts for your space delights.
It’s not the first time that Good Old Games has a promo (I actually wrote a piece about it last year) that coincides with the Steam and Humble Bundle sales, but it’s still nice to see so many classic games DRM-free. A lot I’ve already covered in reviews: Dark Forces, Jedi Knight – Dark Forces II, Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Rebel Assault, Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire, Republic Commando, Rogue Squadron 3D, TIE Fighter Collector’s CD-ROM, and X-Wing: Collector’s CD-ROM. Others I still have to play and maybe even review if time allows (with the upcoming new Star Wars movie not such an impossible idea).
It’s difficult to pick one’s favorite, as unlike other franchises, Star Wars has actually brought a lot of good gaming memories to the table, tackling all kinds of genres, like space sims, RPGs, arcade action, FPS, and even RTS. So here’s the full list of discounted games:
Star Wars: Battlefront II
Star Wars: Dark Forces
Star Wars: Empire at War: Gold Pack
Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds Saga
Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Rebel Assault 1 & 2
Star Wars: Rebellion
Star Wars: Republic Commando
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Star Wars: Starfighter
TIE-Fighter Special Edition
X-Wing Special Edition
Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance
Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter
The promo will last until May 12, 10:00 AM UTC, so enough time to read my reviews or make up your own mind, maybe with the help of the What’s your Star Wars profession? quiz. There are still a few titles missing from the DRM-free catalogue that will hopefully be added sometime in the future. Anyway, have a happy Star Wars… week!
