I have to say that the original passed me by not completely unnoticed but I let it go due to some lukewarm reviews, but it still looked interesting on the Wii (so I might grab it sometime). Now with the sequel receiving the makeover treatment for the PC after being released on the Nintendo DS, Xbox 360 and PS3 a while back, this could be the perfect way to give the weird character another chance. The story about Comrade Black and Papa Blanc de-colorizing Prisma City and de Blob and his friends trying to bring color back is as silly as the gameplay, but this is what makes it so different from other platformers.
Custom paints, patterns and music are as much part of the game as smashing through walls, jet-jumping over skyscrapers and squashing Inkies with power-ups and transforming into different Blobs. There are even co-operative multiplayer modes that should add to the painting fun. The lovely-looking and catchy-sounding PC port features upscaled videos, FXAA anti aliasing, resolution and graphic quality options, keyboard & mouse as well as gamepad (360/PS4) and even an unofficial Wiimote support.
The game is now available with a 25% discount that will last until June 29, 5 PM UTC.
