The release of Tarsier Studios‘ puzzle platformer Little Nightmares was already creepy, but the Little Nightmares: The Depths DLC seems to go even further.
Writing about a short DLC with a longer news article doesn’t make much sense, so let’s keep this simple. This has the same gameplay mechanics of running, hiding, and puzzling through a terrifying environment, now with the Runaway Kid as the protagonist who’s another prisoner on the Maw, a vessel housing many dangers and horrible creatures like The Granny, among them terrors from the waters.
The game is a side-story of the main game and works as the first chapter of Secrets of The Maw, a trilogy of DLCs, the second one being The Hideaway and the last one as yet untitled. While one could argue that this should have been included in the main game, there’s no arguing that it looks even more nightmare-inducing, especially for those scared of water.
The DLC is now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, either as a separate download or with the Season Pass that will unlock the other games in November 2017 and January 2018.
