GOG release: “Spellforce 2: Faith in Destiny”

The release of Spellforce 2 – Anniversary Edition happened a while back, but GOG recently received the standalone add-on Spellforce 2: Faith in Destiny to complete the RTS/RPG hybrid saga thanks to Mind Over Matter Studios and THQ Nordic.

I’ve already mentioned the DLC shortly in the aforementioned release article, but as this one was only released about two weeks ago and I didn’t provide screenshots or a trailer, I’ll do that now. As always in the fantasy genre, the storyline isn’t the most innovative, as it’s about a young man who has to liberate the world of Eo from a new, nameless evil with a group of heroes and a dragon. However, being able to finally ride on the scaly creature should be reason enough to get excited.

Despite being a standalone product, one shouldn’t play Spellforce 2: Faith in Destiny without Spellforce 2 – Anniversary Edition, as it continues its story and should be more accessible when familiarizing oneself with the strategy and role-playing elements. Of course there are also a few additions, like a new race and the new multiplayer mode Domination. It seems to be quite a short game, but the presentation is pretty good and should make for an authentic high fantasy atmosphere.

For those who want more than the DLC, the separate Scenario Pack and digital extras that include the soundtrack, world map and artworks booklet are available for purchase.
