August was a busy time for collecting, mostly gaming, but also a fair bit of watching movies, TV shows and other surprises.
The overview of (blog) life in July 2017 was quite late due to so many release news, but it was nothing compared to the Netflix watchlist: July 2017 and new additions to the media collection in July 2017 that were published during the last week.
New games were exclusively indie projects, with Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice in particular showing that one doesn’t need a big publisher to do a visually amazing game with mature storytelling. Other titles also presented some unique ideas:
The Darkside Detective
Galaxy of Pen & Paper
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
The Long Dark
Sine Mora EX
West of Loathing
GOG had more titles added to its library, with two long-overdue first-person shooters, a classic strategy series, and a forgotten action-platformer gem:
Staying a bit with GOG, there were even more game releases and a sale that brought free copies of recent and not-so-recent titles:
PC game “Chains of Satinav” free with GOG pre-order of “Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth”
GOG free game “Deadlight: Director’s Cut” + Piñata Madness sale
PC game “Event” free with GOG purchase of “Tacoma”
PC game “Furi” free with GOG pre-order of “Absolver”
PC game “Jazzpunk: Director’s Cut” free with GOG pre-order of “Hello Neighbor”
Being able to play many games for a small price, the Humble Bundle selection provided good value for money again:
It’s often not possible to complete and review everything, but two game reviews per week (even if it came down to four per month) was a nice achievement, especially with such high quality titles:
Finally, it was a pleasant surprise to be reminded of the Happy 7 years WordPress anniversary that I’ve stayed with this platform for such a long time. So fingers crossed the next days, weeks, months, years will be just as much fun.
