New additions to the media collection in August 2017

It’s time to have a look back at what August had in store for putting on shelves and be excited about to collect.

As always, it’s best to start with something that is familiar, and it’s of course Games TM with a great feature of 100 great games that are in the pipeline for release (but where to take the time to play them?) and Retrogamer with a very cool cover (story) about Final Fantasy XII, a pretty good game back in the days and maybe in its remastered form as well today.

Next up is the LEGO magazine with Rey’s Speeder, so finally something to build again. Thanks to my girlfriend, two more building sets were added, both featuring X-Wings, which is always awesome.

As I’ve always been interested in web design and a Star Wars fan since I can remember, these two gifts in the form of a very big book and a Millenium Falcon keychain were also given to me by my girlfriend, the coolest ever.

McDonalds might have a terrible idea of what kids like in their Happy Meals (it’s NOT fruity, healthy, bio, hipster stuff!), but the toys are still pretty neat, especially if they involve the Minions.

Board- and cardgames are always welcome if they come this cheap. Again where to take the time? Not even thinking about the SPIELEMESSE at the end of October…

More gaming in digital form on various platforms is nice if one buys stuff for 1-10 EUR each, and those are some really good games!

Going much further back to retro gaming, thanks to a cool shop in Aachen, I finally come closer to own the things I used to own and unfortunately sold during my childhood.

Another present from my girlfriend, I was pleasantly surprised how cool this re-imagining of Samus’ classic single-player only adventures has turned out to be, at least from the first looks of it.

Let’s not forget the movie collection, again adding 3D movies and the first season of Rick & Morty. Ghostbusters was also great fun, which shows one shouldn’t listen to or read any comments or critics.

Amazon Italy is still the place to go/buy, though, when it comes to cheap-as-hell 3D movies. Whoever buys in Germany and disregards the fact that these also have German audio has too much money… or no credit card, probably.

Finally, the latest The Walking Dead compendium is here, and maybe I can start reading, watching the TV show and playing the Telltale Games titles I haven’t yet…
