September was another exciting month full of game releases, two reviews, a bit of collecting and movie/TV streaming… so business as usual.
The overview of (blog) life in August 2017 didn’t take as long as the month before. The Netflix watchlist: August 2017 arrived a bit later with new additions to the media collection in August 2017, but all in good time.
Writing about big events always requires more time due to selecting photos and trying to write about on-site impressions with few but informative words, so it was no surprise that the Gamescom 2017 coverage was published a month later, with still some articles to go:
Gamescom 2017, Part 1: Public Area, Hall 8
Gamescom 2017, Part 2: Public Area, Hall 9
Gamescom 2017, Part 3: Public Area, Hall 6
Gamescom 2017, Part 4: Public Area, Hall 7
Of course there were many game releases:
ECHO
Figment
The Journey Down Trilogy
Niche – a genetics survival game
Songbringer
Tokyo Dark
Tooth and Tail
Ys SEVEN
GOG releases of exclusive or now DRM-free titles were fewer but no less interesting:
CRYPTARK
Gauntlet Slayer Edition
LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes
The Suffering + The Suffering: Ties That Bind
Free games with or without buying/pre-ordering something else were featured as well, more frequently than in the past:
GOG free game “Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee” + BIG DEAL Sale
PC game “Stories: The Path of Destinies” free with GOG pre-order of “Hob”
Humble Bundle free games “Outlast” + “Outlast: Whistleblower”
Humble Bundle free game “Psychonauts”
Humble Bundle free game “The Walking Dead: Season 1” + End of Summer Sale
GOG sales made another appearance:
GOG Weekly Sale: Get 3 games for free by spending $15
GOG Weekly Sale: Square Enix Completion
But the number of high-quality Humble Bundles was even more impressive:
Humble Capcom X SEGA X ATLUS Bundle
Humble Jumbo Bundle 9
Humble Spooky Horror Bundle
Humble Very Positive Bundle 2
Vive La Humble Mobile Bundle: Made in France!
With all the news and cover stories, the only number of articles that decreased were game reviews:
Candle
Demetrios: The BIG Cynical Adventure
However, the reason for this was that I played quite a few other games and wrote the articles… for the upcoming Halloween Gaming Special Week. So be prepared for some October surprises, including cinematic detours.
