October 2018 was clearly the month of Halloween specials, but the other two weeks were blogging news business as usual.
The traditional overviews still made it, even though it was always a bit difficult to fit them in with all the game releases’ limited time discounts:

Free games with courtesy of Amazon/Twitch Prime weren’t as many as last month, but there were still a few to write about:

GOG celebrated its 10th anniversary with a big sale, new games, and a free game:

Most of the game releases were indie titles, but there was also a throwback to retro gaming as well:
The Bard’s Tale Trilogy
The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep
Deep Sky Derelicts
Depth of Extinction
My Memory of Us
Pathfinder: Kingmaker
Prodigy Tactics
SYNTHETIK: Legion Rising
GOG released a mix of casual, gory, as well as beautiful indie titles, too:
Circle Empires
Guns, Gore & Cannoli 1+2
Inked
Of course most of the time and blogging space was spent with game reviews for the Halloween special week:
Bad Mojo: Redux
Ghost Master
Harvester
Little Nightmares
Little Nightmares: Secrets of the Maw
Phantasmagoria
Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh
The same held true for movie reviews:
Chucky 1-7
Freaks of Nature
Insidious: The Last Key
Jigsaw
Paranormal Activity 1-7
Saw I-VII
Victor Crowley
It was actually quite a stressful month with so many reviews to write. Even if most of the movie reviews were done a month or so before, covering the games was very time-consuming, with the last one even be finalized on October 31st. However, as this is a tradition I’ve kept for years and it was a lot of fun playing the games and watching the movies, some for the first time and some revisited, it was still worth it and will hopefully be continued next year as well, maybe with more time in advance…
