Game release: “Battle Brothers – Warriors of the North” DLC (PC)

Overhype Studios’ turn-based fantasy strategy game Battle Brothers becomes even more Norse mythology-focused with the DLC Warriors of the North.

2 years since the original release (see GOG release news), this DLC has finally found its way to digital stores. The main gameplay remains largely the same, so the boardgames-like character heads have to be moved in order to battle human or monster enemies in a very bloody visual style. The DLC provides new challenges with a new faction of Northern barbarians, and depending which of the 10 origins one’s main character shares, the campaign changes, too.

In addition, there are two new legendary locations with two new bosses featuring in a quest that results in a legendary reward. New banners and gear make the game more customizable and personal, while new contracts and events mean more variety in gameplay. Two new music tracks complete the package, while new achievements should offer longevity as well. All in all, despite a long time in development, the wait for this DLC seems to have been worth it.

The game is out now on PC, and if one doesn’t already own the base game, then this one can be purchased with a 50% discount until tomorrow, May 12th, 5 PM UTC.
