Frontier Developments‘ theme park building simulation Planet Coaster receives a breath of cinematic air with the Ghostbusters DLC.
It’s not a secret that I’m a big fan of theme parks, but I’ve also been particularly fond of the Ghostbusters movies, as could be seen with the big plush toy Slimer (New additions to the media collection in April 2019), the cardboard VR set (New additions to the media collection in August 2018), and the Ultimate Visual History (New additions to the media collection in November 2017). Combining this is like a match made in heaven, but the building simulation game really did it.
After already celebrating its 2 year anniversary, the company has constantly improved their theme park simulator with updates, and even if the Ghostbusters DLC isn’t free, it’s worth it for the fully voiced narrative campaign with Dan “Dr. Raymond Stantz” Aykroyd and William “Walter Peck” Atherton alone. But that’s not all. Having the classic Ghostbusters characters, Slimer, and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man show up on the sidewalks of the theme park is one thing, but building a new interactive ghostbusting ride (The Ghostbusters Experience), a cute-looking Slimer-themed kiddie coaster (RollerGhoster), and many set-pieces like the Ghostbusters HQ, Spook Central, ECTO-1 is a dream come true. Listening to the original Ray Parker Jr classic Ghostbusters theme complements this amazing package that should be an instant buy for any movie buff and theme park fan.
There’s really no better time to buy the DLC now, as the original game that is required to run it is 70% off until tomorrow, June 10. Buying both titles together provides an additional 13% discount for the DLC, too. The other special thrill ride and fair packs are also discounted, so you might want to check these out as well.
