Image & Form Games and Thunderful‘s RPG/card game melange SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech battles its way to GOG.
I already wrote about the platformer roguelike SteamWorld Dig 2, but SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech is quite a different game, with the only similarities being the mix of fantasy and steampunk characters. While the story takes second stage, it’s enough to know that one leads a party of heroes to slay monsters and collect treasure.
Crafting one’s own deck is essential to be victorious in turn-based battles against all sorts of fantasy creatures, and as there are over 100 unique punch-cards, variety is key. Earning XP, leveling up characters’ stats is all traditional RPG fare, but with the steampunk twist and the British sense of humor, the game might still be a lot of fun. It looks gorgeous with its hand-drawn backgrounds and characters, that’s for sure.
SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech was already released at the end of May, so only around 3 weeks ago, but now it’s also available on GOG with a 15% launch discount that will last until June 24th, 1pm UTC.
