There’s something cathartic about driving a big monster truck, preferably over other vehicles, and there’s also something very thrilling about racing against other monster trucks. So it’s not a big surprise to see the live motorsport event tour and television show operated by Feld Entertainment come to videogame life. Everyone familiar with the event will be pleased to hear that all cars and stadiums are included, which means that the racing action is true to the original.
This is also reflected in the various modes. So one can race against 25 trucks with illustrious names like Grave Digger and Max-D in the game modes Stadium, Outdoor Racing, Stunt Challenges, and Destruction. Demolishing environments as well as cars should be as much fun as performing all sorts of ridiculous stunts. If this wasn’t enough, then the Outdoor World offers enough room and destructible space to explore, while training one’s driver at Monster Jam University delivers even more fan service. The game looks and sounds great, so a ton of fun seems to be a given.
The game is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One as both digital and retail versions, the latter of which including all sorts of goodies (at least for the console versions): a premium quality display box, a 1:24 exclusive die-cast Grave Digger truck, the Truck Facts postcard book with 25 Monster Jam trucks, a premium quality collectible steelbook, plus instant in-game access to three Monster Jam trucks. The digital version has a 10% launch discount that will last until July 2, 5 PM UTC.
