Empyrean Games, Frozen District, and PlayWay SA‘s renovation simulation game House Flipper and its DLC Garden Flipper make work fun again on GOG.
There’s something intrinsically fascinating about games that take the mundane and often tedious work one won’t have fun with and turn it into something game-like. In this case, House Flipper gives people the chance to become a one-man renovation crew: buying, repairing, and remodeling houses that have seen much better days and far less vermin.
Using all the right tools in order to fix and clean up is as important as choosing appropriate decorations and interior designs. It’s like The Sims in the sense that one can furnish houses, but there’s no one living in them just yet. It gets much more technical, though, as one has to do repairs and installations with electricity, too. Still, this first-person simulation game offers enough incentives to continue playing, with cash earned being invested in better equipment to speed up progress in selling houses.
Garden Flipper takes the player outside and turns him or her into a gardener. Again one has to clean up the mess left behind, like trash or rubble, mow the lawn, tear out the weeds, etc.. Then it’s time to plant new trees and flowers, while choosing the right tools and start decorating in order to have the best garden in the neighborhood.
House Flipper was originally released in May 2018 and is now available on GOG, together with the Apocalypse Flipper DLC that is included for free, with a 30% launch discount that will last until today, August 2nd, 2 PM UTC. Garden Flipper which is only 3 months old, can also be purchased and is 10% off if one buys it together with the base game.
