GOG release: “Iron Marines”

Ironhide Game Studio‘s sci-fi RTS game Iron Marines blasts its way to the DRM-free planet of GOG.

Iron Marines is from the people who developed the Kingdom Rush trilogy, a series of RTS games with a cartoon-like presentation and lots of carnage on screen. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that the newest title follows in the footsteps of those games, throwing the player into frenetic battles on aliens-infested planets with a group of soldiers and mechas.

Recruiting and training heroes and then using all their powers and abilities to survive in the onslaught of enemies is no easy feat. But as each recruit can be used in specific situations, like rangers, snipers, flamethrowers or missile launchers, one still has a chance to make it through enemy lines. It’s not all about killing, though, as one has to rescue civilians or hack supercomputers, too. With massive bosses to defeat and all sorts of ridiculous machinery, one shouldn’t take the game’s premise too seriously, although one shouldn’t make the mistake to relax, as there’s simply no time in the heat of battle.

Iron Marines was originally released in May 2019 and is now DRM-free on GOG with a 10% launch discount that will last until September 6th, 1pm UTC.
