The Gentlebros‘ and PQube‘s cute action-RPGs Cat Quest and Cat Quest II paw their way to GOG.
Cat Quest is set in a world populated by cats and is about the quest of rescuing one’s kidnapped sister by the evil Drakoth. What follows is lots of looting, leveling up in fights and completing side quests. Combat is in real-time and involves both sword and sorcery, but it’s simply enough to know one takes control of a cat and embarks on an adventure that looks as cute and cuddly as the feline hero.
Cat Quest II continues the tradition of its predecessor, but adds local multiplayer. So it’s a no brainer just because of having a cute cat and dog running around and battling all things that stand in their way. This time it’s about a war between the cats of Felingard and the dogs of the Lupus Empire, with the heroes being two kings who want to reclaim their thrones. Of course one can play this alone, but bringing along a friend should add to the fun. It goes without saying that the comic art style looks as cool as in the first game.
Cat Quest was originally released in August 2017 and Cat Quest II in September 2019, but they’re now finally available DRM-free on GOG. The first one has a a 30% launch discount, while the sequel is 10% off until November 13th, 3pm UTC.
