Amazon Prime Video watchlist: January 2020

Amazon Prime Video in January 2020 continued the tradition of strong female characters in comics.

TV shows:
Agent Carter (Season 2) [7/10]

After having watched the first season of Agent Carter and being somehow entertained by its lighthearted approach to spy and adventure stories, it wasn’t surprising to see the same formula work in Season 2. Maybe the most memorable episode is the one in which some sort of special force team is assembled that’s less than professional and stumbles its way through a rather precarious mission. It’s a perfect example of why the series is a lot of fun if dialogues and spot-on timing are used for humorous reasons. While there’s obviously something more serious in the main plot, it becomes very obvious that as a TV show, the low budget special effects are a let down during the finale. Still as far as forgettable but entertaining TV shows go, there are worse and much more boring ones to spend time with.

Despite not hitting all the high notes and feeling more like an excuse for bringing more characters of the Marvel universe to life, I had some fun with Agent Carter, although I won’t say that it’s surprising there wasn’t a third season.
