Overview of (blog) life in March 2020

March 2020 brought even worse news about the Corona virus, but blogging about various entertainment products still continued on a daily basis.

Even if I often thought about covering the Corona virus situation in Germany, especially since I live in one of the areas with the highest number of infected, I decided against it, probably because I’ve rarely used this blog for any political or social views, let alone health topics. Of course daily life has changed in various ways, but maybe sometimes it’s best to find consolation in writing about games, movies, and other media simply because it prevents one’s head to go crazy with worrying. As public events or activities have become so limited, playing games and watching movies might be one of the best ways to cope with the situation, which might not work for everyone, but for some. So here we go with, more or less, business as usual, starting with the overviews of last month:

Amazon Prime Video watchlist: February 2020
Netflix watchlist: February 2020

There were still many games released in digital form, and these were all indies:

Ara Fell: Enhanced Edition
Bright Memory
“DARQ: The Tower” DLC
Iron Danger
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III
THE LONGING
Murder by Numbers
Operencia: The Stolen Sun
Smart City Plan
Yes, Your Grace

GOG also offered some new indie entries and one AAA title:

Abandon Ship
Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
Lair of the Clockwork God
WARSAW
XCOM 2

The DRM-free store supported the “stay safe and at home” mantra by providing many opportunities to grab some freebies:

GOG provides easy access to 26 free games in “stay at home” initiative
GOG Spring Sale with free “The Witcher” goodies collection
GOG Spring Sale with free Goodies Collection #1
GOG Spring Sale with free Goodies Collection #2

There haven’t been many Humble Bundles I found worth writing about, but being a big CAPCOM fan, I had to mention this one:

Humble Capcom MEGA Bundle

Even if I didn’t manage to write any game reviews, I still tried to keep the “free games” list up to date:

Amazon/Twitch Prime free games in March 2020
Epic Games Store free games: “Anodyne 2: Return to Dust”+”A Short Hike”+”Mutazione”
Epic Games Store free games: “Drawful 2″+”Figment”+”Tormentor x Punisher”+”World War Z”
Epic Games Store free game: “InnerSpace”
Epic Games Store free games: “Offworld Trading Company” and “GoNNER”
Epic Games Store free games: “The Stanley Parable” and “Watch Dogs”
GOG free game: “Mable & The Wood”

Looking at all the past articles, it became clear that I couldn’t keep the Corona topic out and it’s been on my mind for the whole month for obvious reasons, but I still hope that writing about new game releases and promoting some companies will help developers and publishers as well as digital stores to survive during these tumultous times. Of course I’ve also kept up the daily writing routine so that you, my dear readers, always have something to read. So stay home and stay safe!

About nufafitc

Being an avid gamer, cinemaniac, and bookworm in addition to other things the internet and new media present, I'm also very much into DIY music, rock and pop in particular. Writing short or longer pieces about anything that interests me has always made me happy. As both an editor for German website "Adventure-Treff" and UK website "Future Sack", I like to write reviews and news about recent developments in the movies, games and book industry.
