Epic Games Store‘s freebies of the week are Tripwire Interactive‘s co-op FSP splatterfest Killing Floor 2 and Stage 2 Studios/Serenity Forge‘s sci-fi exploration adventure game Lifeless Planet: Premier Edition.
Killing Floor 2 is the sequel of a game I already featured in the Humble Unreal Engine Bundle article and this one looks even gorier. Anyone averse to seeing entrails, severed limbs and blood fly around should look elsewhere, but anyone enjoying this kind of gratuitous violence that is presented in a tongue-of-cheek way should definitely give it a go. The 6-player co-op mode might be the best way to go, but it’s also possible to play it solo.
Lifeless Planet: Premier Edition is the opposite of violence, as it tasks the player to seek out life on a distant planet. As an astronaut, one finds a planet that seems to be devoid of life but should instead be full of it. What follows is less focused on action but on exploration, with an atmosphere harking back to classic sci-fi stories.
Both games can be downloaded for free until July 16, 2020, at 5:00 PM.
