ComonGames‘ sci-fi adventure game The Uncertain: Last Quiet Day brings the robot-only post-apocalypse to GOG.
Sci-fi stories about the destruction of life thanks to humanity’s penchant for violence and striving for power has been as old as the genre itself, but The Uncertain: Last Quiet Day uses a much more slow-paced approach of focusing on a world populated by robots, with the model RT-217NP in particular who tries to make sense of the extinction of humanity. With logic replacing moral questions, many human concepts seem as alien as the absence of human beings themselves, but RT-217NB still wants to find out what happened to them.
Presented as a 3D adventure, it’s a game that immerses the player in environments where the world still works without the involvement of humans, but with the interaction of robots. Solving puzzles and having conversations with various AI-fuelled characters is complemented with exploration and decision-making to reveal the truth of why humanity vanished from the face of the earth.
The Uncertain: Last Quiet Day was originally released in September 2016 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 90% launch discount that lasts until July 31, 2020, at 1 PM UTC. A sequel is already in the works in the form of The Uncertain: Light At The End which is already listed on the platform, but with no specific release date yet.
