GOG free game: “Serious Sam: The First Encounter” + Harvest Sale

GOG celebrates its Harvest Sale with giving away Croteam/Devolver Digital‘s classic FPS Serious Sam: The First Encounter.

The Serious Sam series is probably best known for its comic depiction of violence that results from shooting waves upon waves of imaginative enemies (see my Humble Weekly Sale: Serious Sam article). In Serious Sam: The First Encounter, Special Forces veteran Sam ‘Serious’ Stone travels back in time to ancient Egypt in order to save mankind from extinction by the evil immortal Notorious Mental. What follows is wise-cracking and using all sorts of outlandish weapon systems. Anyone who loves the classic Duke 3D humor will feel right at home with the dumb but very fun FPS gameplay.

Serious Sam: The First Encounter is only available for free until tomorrow, August 26, 2020, at 1 PM UTC. In addition, there’s a huge Harvest Sale on GOG with lots of discounts, including another special offer with a freebie. Pre-ordering the upcoming RTS game Iron Harvest unlocks Sudden Strike 4 for free until September 8, 2020 at 1 PM UTC. The Harvest Sale lasts until August 31, 2020, at 1 PM UTC.
