Game release: “Panzer Dragoon: Remake” (PC, PS4)

MegaPixel Studio S. A. and Forever Entertainment S.A.‘s classic arcade on-rails shooter Panzer Dragoon: Remake has finally taken off on PC and PS4.

The original Panzer Dragoon series was developed and published by SEGA in the 90ies, so it’s no surprise that they were very much arcade experiences. Now after being made available on Nintendo Switch and Stadia, PC and PS4 owners can take to the skies on the back of a blue dragon and shoot down all sorts of fantasy/sci-fi enemies as never seen before.

This remade version looks and sounds fantastic and is clearly a work of love for the franchise, and as there isn’t much competition in the shooters-with-dragons scene, it still feels fresh, flying through ruins, above water and shooting at anything that moves. Unlike most on-rails-shooters, one can look around in 360 degrees, which is essential, because wasps, sandworms, and battleships don’t just attack from the front, but from behind and the sides, too. The otherworldly soundtrack and some lush high-res graphics complement the exhilarating flight.

The game is out now on PC and PS4 with a 10% launch discount that lasts until tomorrow, October 2, 2020, at 1 PM UTC.
