GOG release: “Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania & Contra”

GOG brings back even more Konami classics with the Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania & Contra.

Releasing the Metal Gear series in DRM-free form was already a big coup for GOG, but of course Konami has much more to offer with its back catalogue on various platforms in different genres, as the Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania & Contra so aptly proves.

While there are obviously many more games the series produced, the following games will still bring some nostalgic tears to seasoned gamers: Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, Contra, and Super Contra.

Action-adventure fans with a penchant for gothic horror will like the Castlevania titles, and sci-fi run-and-gun aficionados will have a punishingly difficult time with the Contra games. Thankfully the PC versions include a quick save function, making them more accessible to a new generation of gamers.

So anyone interested in the legacy of Konami and the beginning of two classic franchises, can do so now on GOG with the Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania & Contra.
