Game release: “Ikenfell” (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch)

Happy Ray Games and Humble Games‘ turn-based tactical RPG Ikenfell offers plenty of pixel art charme and storytelling magic, quite literally.

The Harry Potter or Sabrina the Teenage Witch references are quite obvious with a group of magic students experiencing friendship, love, trust, and loss in a school of magic, complete with dorms, alchemy labs, and other mysterious locations.

It’s not all about learning, though, but about battling over 100 enemies with 3 out of 6 students in a group who all have individual powers, including 48 spells. Surprisingly one doesn’t make use of the tried and tested MP gauge, but times each attack and defensive stance correctly, which becomes crucial when trying to defeat 22 bosses. Considering there are so many high fantasy RPGs, it’s refreshing to see something more original and humorous with ordinary people following the path of magic.

The game is out now on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch with a 10% launch discount that lasts until October 15, 2020, at 5 PM UTC.
