Game release: “ScourgeBringer” (PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch)

Flying Oak Games and Dear Villagers‘ roguelite platformer ScourgeBringer offers hardcore shooting and slashing mayhem.

Anything related to indie gaming and the rogue genre might already evoke a feeling of déjà vu, and this game is no different, although at least its brutal action matches that of the story: In a post-apocalyptic world, warrior Kyhra (not to be confused with Death Note‘s Kira) has to prevent a mysterious entity to destroy mankind completely and while doing so uncover her own past by defeating ancient machines.

What follows is fast-paced action that requires precise platforming and combat skills, and judging by the heavy metal soundtrack of the trailers, this won’t be for those without fast reflexes and who dislike dying a lot. It goes without saying that boss fights are even tougher than surviving the individual enemies and traps each level has in store for Kyhra.

The game is out now on PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch with a 15% launch discount that lasts until October 28, 2020, at 2 PM UTC.
