Stormling Studios and Iceberg Interactive‘s cyberpunk thriller Transient brings Lovecraftian horror to the modern age.

The recently released Ghostrunner (see today’s news) already proved that the cyberpunk genre is back with a vengeance, and it’s refreshing to see various developers trying their hands on the genre with different gameplay, in this case an exploration horror adventure that is about hacker Randolph Carter who finds something inside the citadel Domed City Providence that might not only bring down his own sanity, but humanity along with it.

H.P. Lovecraft’s stories about the unseen cosmic horror have usually been associated with detectives and everyday people, but not really with a dystopian future or an augmented person, so this already sets the game apart from other titles or any other medium, come to think of it. The gameplay is quite similar to >observer, though, as one investigates the environments and scans them for clues, while one also uses hacker tools to progress.

The game is out now on PC with a 15% launch discount that lasts until November 4, 2020, at 5 PM UTC.
