Klei Entertainment‘s stealth action game Mark of the Ninja: Remastered offers GOG users plenty of opportunities to be a lethal shadow in the dark.

Back in 2012, the original Mark of the Ninja showed that indie games can be more than pixel platformers, as the concept of lovely hand-drawn graphics combined with cartoon violence and thoughtful planning when to make the next move as a ninja were pretty cool and unique. The gameplay was left intact in the remaster that was released in 2018, as one uses heightened senses, upgrades new tools and techniques to either sneak by or kill enemies on the way.

What has changed are the graphics, as the original 720p resolution backgrounds and characters as well as cinematic cutscenes are now presented in glorious 4K, while the new 5.1 audio mix is a nice touch, too. It’s not all about presentation, though, because one can play as new character Dosan, experience a new story level, find new unique items, and also unlock developer commentary throughout the game.

Mark of the Ninja: Remastered is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 60% launch discount that lasts until December 1, 2020, at 2 PM UTC. If one owns the original, then the discount will be up to 75%, while those who bought the Ninja Special Edition or Special Edition Upgrade in the past will receive the Remastered version for free.
