Tis the season to be jolly and to give away free games, which GOG does with Double Eleven/Introversion Software/Paradox Interactive‘s prison management simulation game Prison Architect.
Prison Architect might not be the perfect holiday present for everyone due to its dark subject matter, but it surely provides hours of planning fun during some cold and snowy nights. Promoted as the world’s best lock-em-up, it’s clear that it’s not meant that seriously, as one manages a maximum security prison, trying to keep riots at bay, with more and more prisoners occupying cells, the workout area, or even an execution chamber. Yes, it’s humor that can’t get any darker, but as the developers cite games like Dungeon Keeper or Theme Hospital as their inspiration, the satirical aspect delivered with cartoon graphics prevails.
Prison Architect is only available for free until Saturday, December 19, 2020, at 2 PM UTC. This freebie accompanies the Winter sale that ends on January 4, 2021, at 2 PM UTC.
