Live Motion Games and PlayWay‘s simulation game Train Station Renovation gives GOG customers a chance to bring those neglected places back to their former glory.

Publisher PlayWay is known for their countless simulation titles that dabble in all sorts of genres, as can be seen with the GOG releases of “Cooking Simulator” and “Thief Simulator” as well as “House Flipper” and the “Garden Flipper” DLC. Now Train Station Renovation is probably the one I’d love to try out the most, as I live close to a train station where work has been laid aside for years and it would be nice to do a fixer-upper on it.

One works for a renovation company that specializes in restoring old train stations that have either been abandoned or destroyed. So one first has to clean them from all the trash (or radioactive residue), do a new paint job (and remove those nasty pentagrams), fix what can still be fixed, and then take care of decorations. The more one progresses, the more tools and upgrades one will have at one’s disposal. If only reality would work like that and the train companies would use this method more consistently in not so popular areas outside big cities, we’d at least have a more comfortable place to wait for the trains to arrive (which would then also look much nicer).

Train Station Renovation was originally released in October 2020 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 25% launch discount that lasts until January 27, 2021, at 2 PM UTC.
