chaosmonger studio and Assemble Entertainment‘s cyberpunk adventure game ENCODYA creates a believable dystopian world with lots of puzzles to solve.

It’s refreshing to see the cyberpunk genre alive and kicking, especially when it comes to classic point-and-clickers. ENCODYA isn’t all bleak and sad, though, as it’s not only inspired by Blade Runner (see this GOG release news), but by Monkey Island (see this review) and Studio Ghibli movies, so expect some humorous and touching sequences.

Taking place in Neo Berlin in the year 2062, the story follows 9-year-old orphan Tina who lives together with her robot guardian SAM-53 and soon embarks on a mission from her father to bring cheerfulness and color back to a world steeped in grayness. Both characters are playable, while there are over 34 NPCs to talk to and more than 100 locations to explore, making this probably a long and epic journey that looks and sounds rather beautifully.

The game is out now on PC with a 20% launch discount that lasts until February 2, 2021, at 4 PM UTC. There’s also a Save the World edition that includes the soundtrack and a digital artbook.
