GOG release: “Beyond a Steel Sky”

Revolution Software‘s ambitious sci-fi adventure game Beyond a Steel Sky has received a new lease of DRM-free life on GOG.

Beyond a Steel Sky was already featured in the Past gaming events: gamescom 2019, Day 2 and Past gaming events: devcom 2019, Day 2 articles, but I somehow missed the original release last year, probably because it was a Steam and iOS exclusive which I usually don’t cover.

To make this rather short: It’s a sequel to classic point-and-clicker Beneath a Steel Sky (available for free on GOG), a title that I definitely have to cover sometime in the future. Playing as Robert Foster who was formerly abducted as a child, one explores Union City, an apparently Utopian place for everyone, but of course it turns out to be anything but wonderful. Expect a lot of puzzles, conversations, a cel-shaded comic look and everything good the company of Charles Cecil is known for.

Beyond a Steel Sky was originally released in July 2020 on Steam and iOS and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 40% launch discount that lasts until April 5, 2021, at 1 PM UTC. The soundtrack can also be bought separately.
