Game release: “Shadow Man Remastered” (PC)

Nightdive Studios brings back another classic game, this time Acclaim’s horror comic action-adventure Shadow Man Remastered.

In 2016, I reviewed the original Acclaim game from 1999 and despite my love for it, there were quite a few frustrating elements, both of a gameplay and technical nature. So it’s great to see Nightdive Studios, known for rejuvenating classics for a modern audience, releasing the ultimate edition of Michael LeRoi’s journey into the realms of death to stop the apocalypse.

While at first it doesn’t really look much different from the original title, a lot of improvements have been made, i.e. HD textures, even the restoration of unused animations and cut and censored models. Music and sound effects as well as cut or unused voice dialogue have also been implemented. In addition to more graphical flourishes, gameplay has received a make-over, too, with new levels, weapons, and enemies put in. So this definitely warrants a new play (and maybe review?).

The game is out now on PC with a 25% launch discount that lasts until April 22, 2021, at 5 PM UTC.
