Palm Pioneer and Thermite Games‘ cyberpunk adventure game Tales of the Neon Sea is released in DRM-free form on GOG.

It’s been only two weeks since I briefly covered Tales of the Neon Sea in the Epic Games free game: “Tales of the Neon Sea” article, but I’ll go a bit deeper this time. One plays hardboiled detective Rex, a former veteran cop, and his cat partner William who become involved in a series of murders that have to do with a robot rebellion.

Detective games set in a cyberpunk world usually guarantee great atmosphere, and here it’s the pixel art graphics that impress the most. But of course it’s not only the visuals or sound design that are immersive, but the story itself and many environmental puzzles one has to solve, and as it seems the cat can be used to break stuff, it’s already on the right track of being a fun game.

Tales of the Neon Sea was originally released in April 2019 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 40% launch discount that lasts until April 26, 2021, at 1 PM UTC.
