GOG release: “Trials of Fire”

Whatboy Games‘ tactical card game Trials of Fire makes fantasy deckbuilding possible in DRM-free form on GOG.

Taking into account that physical deckbuilding games were very niche back in the infancy days of PC games, it’s quite interesting how popular the genre has become. So Trials of Fire adds another stack of fantasy fun in a world that lies in ruin, offering exploration, combat, and character development to the mix.

Strategic planning and thinking are obviously a given, and with the combination of three hero decks plus all sorts of card synergies, in addition to weapons, items, and gear that can be upgraded, this feels very much like an RPG, one that looks and sounds pretty, too.

Trials of Fire was originally released in April 2021 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 20% launch discount that lasts until tomorrow, July 2, 2021, at 1 PM UTC. There’s also an Inferno Edition which includes the soundtrack, an artbook, and a map.
