GOG celebrates WitcherCon with a “The Witcher universe” giveaway and promo sale

Starting today and lasting until tomorrow, CD PROJEKT RED‘s online event WitcherCon is accompanied by GOG’s special sale, freebies, and articles.

Next month will be gamescom and devcom time (and I’ll give them the preview treatment soon), but from today, July 9, until tomorrow, July 9, 2021, the The Witcher franchise is the focal point during WitcherCon. It offers streams on both the Netflix and CD PROJEKT RED YouTube channels (see the individual links) with discussion panels and presentations, so there’s a very good chance one will have a good look at the upcoming second season of the TV show (see Netflix watchlist: May 2020 for the first one).

Probably coinciding with the GOG “The Witcher” Anniversary Sale with free goodies collection, GOG joins the celebration with The Witcher Hub where one finds various articles and interviews about the games as well as a fun personality test.

In addition, all The Witcher titles are discounted up to 85%. What’s even better: Starting from today, July 9, 2021, at 5 PM UTC and lasting until July 12, 2021, at 5 PM UTC, there’s a Witcher-Universe giveaway that includes the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt concert video, a code to redeem 2 digital ebooks from the Dark Horse Comics page, and 4 new GWENT items.

It will be interesting to see what announcements WitcherCon has in store (the AR game is already on its way) or if it’s more a retro event look at the glorious past. For my part, I’d be thrilled to have another The Witcher Tales title (see the Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales review) or more spin-offs.
