Epic Games Store‘s latest freebies are Cyan‘s first-person sci-fi adventure Obduction and Mohawk Games‘/Stardock Entertainment‘s space management RTS game Offworld Trading Company.

Both titles have already been featured in some freebies articles of the past, so I’ll keep this as short as possible. Obduction was covered in a game release news and a GOG giveaway article, so suffice it to say that it’s for fans of the Myst series, which is a pretty niche genre.

I already played a bit of it, but somehow gave up due to its obscure puzzles. However, this doesn’t mean it’s not a good game, as the atmosphere is great and the feeling of being in another world, trying to find out what happened to its inhabitants is intriguing.
Offworld Trading Company was already an Epic Games Store freebie, so it’s a bit disappointing to see it here again. But considering how many freebies have been on the digital platform, it was only a matter of time before this happened.

The colonization of Mars seems to become pretty common in the sci-fi strategy genre lately, but this game still has a few interesting ideas, as it’s focused more on the economic than combat aspects of the RTS genre.
Both games can now be added to the Epic Games Store account for free until July 22, 2021, at 5:00 PM.
