Last year’s digital version of the game developers event was a big success, and devcom digital 2021 seems to continue the trend of digitalization.
Staying connected in the games industry despite or because of the Coronavirus situation has become highly important. So the team of devcom proves once again that #ddc2021 will deliver on the promise of bringing developers and potential publishers closer together. At least in the digital space, the event takes place from August 23-27, 2021.
The first speaker highlights have already been announced, with more following soon: Craig Morrison, Principal Designer at Blizzard Entertainment; Navid Khavari, Narrative Director at Ubisoft; Jenna Ruth, VFX Artist at Insomniac Games; Jayson Fitch, Senior Character Artist at Insomniac Games; Jahrain Jackson, Advanced Senior Engine Programmer at Insomniac Games. So yes, Insomniac Games seem to be present and talk about their games from various angles.
Of course what will be even more interesting: indie developers presenting their games during the NRW Indie Expo, maybe some more retro specials, and other interesting talks.
As always, tickets are still available in the shop and cater for all sorts of “visitors”, i.e. students, developers, or whole companies. I hope I’ll be on (digital) site via accreditation, as 2020 was already a blast, as could be read here: Past gaming events: devcom digital 2020, Week 1 and Past gaming events: devcom digital 2020, Week 2.
Even though the upcoming event will only last for five days, it will definitely feature some memorable talks that might be recorded for being watched later on. In addition, the Global Industry Game Awards (GIGA) show will be hosted on Friday, August 27, 2021, to look forward to.
