GSQ Games and Gamera Game‘s strategy and management simulation Amazing Cultivation Simulator teaches a lot about Chinese mythology.

It doesn’t happen very often that one is overwhelmed by PR material or descriptions about a game, but it’s the case with Amazing Cultivation Simulator, a very unique title that bursts with content and its Chinese heritage. In order to reach immortality, people follow the path of cultivation and try to balance good and evil. Set in the fictional Tiancang era, the game takes the player through the Chinese literary genre of xianxia, influenced by Taoist and Buddhist concepts, and as a grandmaster one has to bring back the Taiyi sect to its former glory.

If this premise already sounds like information overload, it’s just the beginning, as one designs a cultivation sect, manages the school and its students in order to expand domains and become more powerful than other sects. There’s so much gameplay to cover, it’s impossible to do so in a simple game news article, so suffice it to say that cultivation, battle, adventure, survival, crafting, building, and socializing are some of the keywords to keep the sect going, as strange or alien as this concept might seem for a Western audience.

Amazing Cultivation Simulator was originally released in November 2020 and is now available DRM-free on GOG with a 15% launch discount that lasts until August 2, 2021, at 1 PM UTC.
