Game release: “GRIME” (PC)

Clover Bite and Akupara Games‘ action-adventure RPG GRIME delivers a dark and unforgiving experience.

After the release of Vesper, I’m happy that GRIME is another indie highlight I saw during gamescom 2020 that is finally here in all its full visual glory. The story is pretty mysterious, as one’s character suddenly comes into existence after a strange material collapses in on itself and somehow transforms the world. A world one has to explore and survive in, as it’s both alien and dangerous.

While the game doesn’t have the cuteness of Kirby, there’s one mechanic it shares with the platformer: absorbing enemies and using their powers against them. Living weapons and nightmarish bosses make it clear that it’s not a game suitable for children, as can also be seen with punishing combat and a deep skill progression system.

The game is out now on PC with a 10% launch discount that lasts until August 9, 2021, at 1 PM UTC.
