Epic Games Store free games: “A Plague Tale: Innocence” and “Minit”

Epic Games Store‘s new free games of the week are Asobo Studio/Focus Home Interactive‘s medieval adventure game A Plague Tale: Innocence and Kitty Calis/Jan Willem Nijman/Jukio Kallio/Dominik Johann‘s Groundhog Day-like RPG Minit.

A Plague Tale: Innocence was already featured in this GOG release news and tells the story of young Amicia and her little brother Hugo who try to survive both the Inquisition and plague in 1349 France.

The unique selling point of this historical adventure isn’t only the realistic and quite revolting portrayal of diseases and human ignorance, but also that one controls masses of rats in order to solve puzzles.

Minit was discussed in this game release news and seems to have been an Epic Games Store freebie before I didn’t write about, but which was somehow already added to my account.

What makes this game so special is that one only plays for one minute before the main character dies, although everything one has collected or done is memorized for the next playthrough.

Both games can now be added to the Epic Games Store account for free until August 12, 2021, at 5:00 PM.
