Epic Games Store‘s freebie of the week is Villa Gorilla and Team17‘s adventure/platformer/pinball game mix Yoku’s Island Express.
I’ve already covered Yoku’s Island Express in a couple of articles (like GOG release: “Yoku’s Island Express” or Amazon Prime Gaming free games in May 2021), but it’s still worth writing about once again, as it was my personal highlight during gamescom 2017. Just imagine what it would be like to explore some beautiful hand-drawn backgrounds populated by quirky characters and listen to sublime feel-good-music and you have what makes this title so endearing to look at and play. Come to think of it, it’s high time to write a review about it in the near future…
